RISK ASSESSMENT OF SALT WORKERS: AN ERGONOMIC APPROACH

This study focused on the ergonomic risk assessment of salt workers in Occidental Mindoro. The intended to determine which work activities posed risks farm workers, find if significant relationship between profile variables and total pain body parts experienced by from doing that risks. Nordic Questionnaire was used detect symptoms neck, back, shoulders extremities. It is composed 28 multiple choice questions structured into two well-differentiated parts, first part refers nine body(neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists/hands, upper lower hip/thighs, knees ankles during last 12 months. second three (neck, back) throughout subject’s working life/seven days beforehand. To interpret data, correlation analysis descriptive statistics were used. Findings revealed are middle adults, have been farms for most their lives, heights weights well within average height weight Filipino males. Results further suggest caused are, transporting salt, collecting filling salterns with brine. Further, age years also found be significantly related saltworkers pose them. likely feel back knees.
